Afacan (pronounced Afajan) is a non-profit meeting center on the Turkish Aegean coast run by people from Berlin and Istanbul.
Afacan is a meeting place for anyone curious about themselves and others: getting to know each other means no longer being “foreigners.”
Afacan can accommodate about eighty people of all ages, especially groups. Families and individuals are welcome as well.
Afacan first opened its doors in 2004 and belongs to the foundation Umverteilen! Stiftung für eine, solidarische Welt. The Afacan team is responsible for the project together with the Er-Fahren working group from Umverteilen! in cooperation with Gençtur Istanbul and Gönüllü Hizmetler Derneği (Voluntary Services Association).
